Barfoot & Thompson Triples
Thanks to Geraldine Zareian of Barfoot & Thompson for sponsoring the opening tournament at the club for this season.
Teams from both inside and outside the club competed in this 2 bowl tournament and this made for a tough competition. Prize money was chased and the ever coveted random prizes were sought for consolation, to match the wine and beer at the end of the day.
Of course it does help to have your bowls for a “bowls tournament”. Now Gordon why the hell did you go and throw your car keys in some unsuspecting persons bag before getting your bowls out of your locker first. Then to go around accusing everyone of taking your keys by mistake and trying to skip, again with no bowls. Bowls were borrowed and the day was saved and the keys were “discovered” while all were in the bar. The truth be told they were probably there the whole time.
Winners on the day were the BBBC team of Brian Wilson, John Walker and Colin Rogan with the runners up a team from Takapuna, both being 4 game winners on the day. A great day made with the generous support of Geraldine from Barfoot & Thompson
