KNITWITS

A popular knitting group that meet each Friday and still going strong, with a couple of new members...

Many squares have been made for baby blankets and some lovely prem baby singlets.

Even the men are joining in !! Aren't they Jerry - The girls will have a pair of knitting needles in your hands before you know it

Angela fro North Shore SCBU took time out from her busy schedule to come and show us the work they do at the neo-natal department at North Shore Hospital. Angela brought her trusted doll who was the size of a Prem baby. She gave us an insight as to what they deal with on a daily basis. Angela and all the staff at SCBU are very grateful for the knitting items that we donate to the hospital.

We also want to thank all the donations of wool and other items we can use to raise funds for wool, which we recieve from members and friends, without which this would not be made possible.

Thank you

Update from Jacqui, July 2024

As you all can see we have been busy once more. I took these up to North Shore hospital on Tuesday morning and they were so thrilled.  They were getting very low on the blankets The staff at North Shore say winter is so hard on prem' babies and they always make sure each baby goes home with a lovely gift, including our blankets if they have any.  We will need to make sure Knitwits will try and knit some over summer so that way the hospital will have some stock come next winter. There were twelve babies there last week and some even had on the odd hats we had made. So cute. Makes it worth while. Again a big thank you for all the support you are giving to the Knitwits team.
